Eagle Scout Application Process

Eagle Scout Candidate Guidelines
Eagle Scout candidates should read and thoroughly follow this Eagle Scout Check List. Additional questions should be directed to the Scoutmaster or the Advancement Chairperson. Before you start any paperwok, you must get your project approved by the Scoutmaster and then you need to attend a Troop Committee Meeting to present your idea (contact the Troop Committee Chairperson to be put on the agenda). After the above is completed you may proceed to the next step.

Eagle Scout Project Workbook
After reading the Eagle Scout Check List and your presenting your idea noted above, Eagle Scout candidates can download the Eagle Scout Project Workbook. This is a word document and therefore you are able to fill in the information on your computer as you work on your project. Please note that you may insert pages as needed, especially in the photograph sections. Before submitting this Workbook for its first approval prior to starting the actual project, delete all instructional pages from your document and be sure your page numbers are in order. Your cover sheet for your workbook should be formatted as the following lead sheet, which can be copied and pasted directly into your workbook.

Eagle Scout Rank Application
Another part of the Eagle Scout process is the Eagle Scout Rank Application. To complete this form contact the Advancement Chairperson to obtain a copy of your Eagle Scout Assistant sheet. Note: this form can be filled in on the computer if you have access to Abode Professional 8; otherwise you will need to print and enter in the information manually. Please print clearly in blue or black ink.

Eagle Scout Letters of Recommendation
Eagle Scout Candidates need to obtain three to four letters of recommendation prior to their Eagle Board of Review, in which one can include your parents. Click here to download the Letter of Recommendation format to guide those who you chose to write for you. A sample of the Letter of Recommendation Envelope is also available for your viewing.

Requirement #6
One of the important requirements to obtain your rank of Eagle Scout is to complete Requirement #6 prior to your Scoutmaster Conference. This requirement is an ambition statement written by the candidate. More information on this can be found at EagleScout.org.
